Quality of Education @ Walton Peak Flying High
At Walton Peak Flying High Academy we strive to ensure that we provide all our children with a curriculum that is responsive to their needs, and equips them with the knowledge, skills and confidence both for now and in their future.
It is our belief at Walton Peak Flying High Academy that the children are at the heart of every decision we make. We ensure that the children are exposed to excellent teaching and learning within a high quality learning environment, through effective leadership, dedicated and caring staff and within all aspects of school life.
We are proud to be driven by our curriculum vision: ASPIRE.
At Walton Peak, through our curriculum our children will:
Always challenge themselves
use Sticky knowledge for life-long learning
Practise new knowledge to help it stick
use their Imagination to explore new concepts
have Reading at the heart of our curriculum
Experience new and exciting things
Our curriculum is tailored to the meet the needs of all our children. We will provide experiences that are inclusive, authentic, real and meaningful. We build on the children’s knowledge from EYFS right through school, ensuring children reactivate their learning regularly so it stays in their long-term memory. Through our broad and balanced, enquiry-led curriculum, we develop rich vocabulary; read widely and often and provide exciting experiences to support learning. We encourage all our children to challenge themselves at all times.
We will prepare children with the resilience and perseverance to become creative and independent thinkers and to develop learners for life within an ever-changing world. We recognise that our pupils have different starting points and life experiences, thus our curriculum aims to develop the cultural capital and diversity to help them become responsive and active citizens.
We value the vital partnership between home and school, with parents and staff working together for the benefit of our children. We are committed to keeping children safe and providing an environment that promotes good behaviour.
We believe that every child, however challenging their circumstances and whatever their background, can achieve.
