Early Years
Early Years Foundation Stage
We are delighted that you and your child are joining Walton Peak Flying High Primary and Nursery Academy. On behalf of the Staff, Governors, children and parents, it gives us great pleasure to welcome you and your family to our school community.
We are exceptionally proud of our Nursery and Reception provision. In their early years children develop quickly and a child's experiences between birth and five have a major impact on their future life chances. A secure, safe and happy Early Years experience is therefore vital to children's educational success.
At Walton Peak Flying High Academy we are committed to ensuring our youngest children are enabled to aspire, flourish and grow.
We pride ourselves on having a strong partnership with parents and carers which provides the foundation that children need to make the most of their abilities and talents as they grow. We develop and nurture strong and positive attitudes where children become proud and respectful of themselves, others and their environment.

Our EYFS Curriculum
We follow the curriculum as outlined in the 2024 Statutory Framework for the EYFS. The EYFS framework includes seven areas of learning that are equally important and interconnected.
The prime areas are: Communication and Language, Physical Development and Personal, Social and Emotional Development. The Prime Areas are strengthened and applied through four specific areas: Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World and Expressive Art and Design.
In our EYFS we plan activities to enable children to develop and learn effectively. The individual needs, interest and stage of development of each child is taken into account to plan a challenging and enjoyable experiences. Each area of learning is planned for through a mixture of adult led input and child initiated learning.
